HWL Ebsworth has advised South Australian founded and ASX listed Clean Seas Seafood Ltd in relation to its acquisition by Yumbah Aquaculture Ltd, an Australian vertically integrated aquaculture business.

Founded in 2000 and based in South Australia’s Spencer Gulf, Clean Seas Seafood has established itself as a global leader in full lifecycle breeding, production and sale of Hiramasa or Yellowtail Kingfish (Seriola lalandi). Known for its exceptionally high-quality fish, Clean Seas is one of the largest producers of Yellowtail Kingfish outside of Japan and is renowned amongst leading chefs and restaurants around the world for its exceptional quality.

The transaction was implemented by a Federal Court approved members scheme of arrangement. The HWLE team worked closely with Clean Seas’ Independent Board Committee, management team, financial adviser, and assisting Counsel.
